Metal roof and wall cladding should be installed as explained in this guide to comply with the NZBC and to satisfy manufacturers’ warranties.

Installation information is consistent with the NZMRM Code of Practice version 3.0 and correct as of May 2022.

Metal Roofing installation is a detailed and expert field.

  • In New Zealand it is categorised as Restricted Building Work to be done or supervised by Licensed Building Practitioners.
  • The Code of Practice contains some installation recommendations from a Design perspective.
  • The Roofing Association of New Zealand (RANZ) can provide further information.
