Standing Seam

The term 'standing seam' refers to the way the panels are joined in a vertical, or "standing", position. After being laid on the substrate and clipped, it is seamed either by hand or seaming machine.

The minimum pitch of standing seams more than 30 mm in height running from ridge to eaves is 3°. The minimum pitch for standing seams less than 30 mm high is 5°. See Jointing a Standing Seam.
