Vented Soft Edge

Typical soft edge is either soft aluminium or perforated aluminium a with PIB rubber backer. The latter is more common. The PIB rubber, when dressed down on a hot day, can adhere tightly to the roofing surface and prevent the escape of air at the apex. A vented soft edge (available from all suppliers) has only a partial PIB backer, allowing the perforations in the aluminium to become an effective pathway for trickle ventilation while still being an effective baffle against wind-blown moisture.
